Community Reports/Presentations
Mike Squire – City of Dayton Management
- Wayne Ave corridor still a work in progress
- Everyone is encouraged to continue to use Dayton delivers app to report concerns/complaints. These do go to city supervisors and create a record. Call 333-4800 if you need Dayton Delivers app reset.
- Bulk pick is no longer once a month. And you can use it unlimited # of times. Call 333-4800 to have bulk pickup.
Ofc. Joshua Blankley – City of Dayton Police
- The DPD is increasing patrols in the alley between Park and Wyoming
- Call 333-COPS if cars are parked in a non-parking area
Cedric Howard – Oak Street Health
- Oak street serves Adults 65+, it is owned by CVS, the Wayne location is the biggest center in Ohio. They have been here 5 years. They want to be good stewards to South Park and they are committed to keeping their landscape tidy. They also have a large community space that is available for use.
Presidents Report- Mark Manovich
- SP Flats Phase 3 development- Mark passed around the drawings. These were approved years ago. It will be developed in stages and there should be plenty of parking
- Garbage Collection- Issues with trash or recycling not being picked up. Please contact Mark with issues. He’s collecting the info to give to Public Works
- Park/Wyoming alley issues- Heath MacAlpine is gathering the info and getting it to Mark to work with the police to develop an action plan.
- Mark will attend City of Dayton Neighborhood Presidents Forum in August.
- There is no HSPI membership meeting in August.
Committee Reports
- Marketing and Communication- Willie Morris: The team is keeping all events up to date on Facebook.
- Social – Sarah Dugan: Upcoming Events- PPD Aug 9th, No HSPI general meeting in Aug, Shakespeare Aug 15-17. Big Thanks to the Gows and the Brett Chmiel for hosting the July PPD. Volunteers needed to help with Shakespeare. Reach out to Sarah if interested.
- Membership Secretary- Kristina Scott: HSPI has 55 Members to date. Cost to join is $15 per Individual and $25 per Household.
- Housing/Development – Karin Manovich: Use Dayton delivers to report housing issues like peeling paint, grass that needs mowed, falling gutters etc. reminder to please put trash cans away after trash pick-up. they are not to be sitting in the alley or the street.
- Preservation Dayton: $15 to join. Contract Karin Manovich for more info or go to www.PreservationDayton.com. They are hosting many upcoming events.
