Join the Historic South Park neighborhood association and the Sierra Club for a Do It Yourself Rain Barrel Workshop. Each participant will receive a 55 gallon food grade plastic barrel, DIY Earth Minded diverter kit, and learn how to install their barrel at home. Lawn and garden watering can make up 40% of a home’s summer water usage.
Harvesting runoff water helps ease the load on our storm sewer system, reduces energy used by water treatment and pumping stations, and can reduce your water and sewer bill. (source: US EPA) Please, sign up below for Sunday, May, from 2-4 p.m. at 521 Hickory Street.
Registration is limited. A $75 donation to Historic South Park is suggested.
