Work has begun!

After months of planning and hard work, installation has begun to bring Sculpture to the Boulevard. Over the next few weeks you’re likely to see steady progress as the sculpture takes its place atop the soon to be finished foundation.

For more than 100 years, the boulevard on Park Drive has served as one of the anchors for South Park. We’re pleased to announce a project that will add a signature piece of sculpture to this famed green space.

The Project • A Hamilton Dixon Creation – Sculpture on the Boulevard

South Park resident and nationally known sculptor Hamilton Dixon is donating his time and talents to create a sculpture to be placed in the 100 block of Park Drive, late summer 2013. We are seeking contributions to help purchase materials that he will use to create the sculpture and for installation of the finished work.  hamilton dixon sculpture in South Park Dayton Ohio

The Space • Park Drive Boulevard

Park Drive Boulevard has been home to events like Shakespeare in South Park, music and arts festivals, Easter egg hunts as well as everyday activities such as walks with the dog or enjoying the boulevard from a park bench. Public spaces like these are a vital part of our neighborhood.

How you can help • Contribute

With more than $5,000 already raised toward our goal of $10,000, we need your help. A public art piece like Hamilton Dixon’s will help to define South Park as a great neighborhood.

Would you please help? We are currently seeking contributions to bring us closer to our goal of $10,000. Your executive board is excited and eager to see this project succeed. You can be a part of that excitement by supporting this project with a financial contribution. We are happy to acknowledge your donation on our website, unless you prefer otherwise.

Any amount you’re willing to contribute will be greatly appreciated, before May 1, 2013! Please send contributions to: Historic South Park, Inc., c/o G. Wilson, Treasurer, 130 Alberta St., Dayton, OH 45410.
