Rebuilding Together Dayton, April 24, 2010 from DABR on Vimeo.
If you think the folks in the suburbs don’t care for downtowners, take note. The volunteers who donate their labor to Rebuilding Together Dayton are largely from outside the Dayton city limits. Our hats are off to them! Thank you to the volunteers who gave up a Saturday on April 24, to converge on Morton Avenue at 8am to scrape, paint, replace drywall, and renovate the home for a needy family.
Rebuilding Together Dayton, a non-profit volunteer-driven organization founded in 1996 by Preservation Dayton, Inc., has repaired nearly 1,000 homes in neighborhoods all across the city since its inception. Its mission is to build community partnerships and provide home rehabilitation for low-income Dayton homeowners, particularly the elderly and disabled, so they may live in warmth, safety and independence.
