Agenda topic: Community Reports | Presenter Library Level Proposal

Discussion: Jen is the representative from the Dayton Library: Campaign Manager for Issue 34 Levy. It is a 1 million increase levy, which means about 67 cents per week for a property appraised at 100K. This is the first levy in 15 years. The library provides critical services to children, seniors, and others in our community, and this levy will help support increased use of services. If this levy fails, between it and state cuts, the library will need to cut 7 million dollars from their budget. https://votefordml.org is the website to visit for more information.

Agenda topic: Community reports | Presenter Emerson School Representative

Emerson School Rep did not attend. Discussion: Mark M met with Principal Hogue who stated the construction of Phase 1 (the new Lower parking lot for parents off Buckeye Street). Reconfiguration of the Upper parking lot on Hickory, along with the removal of the crumbling retaining wall to the north, will be the next Phase. While that is under construction, the buses will moved to Burns. Until the Lower parking lot is complete, parents will continue student pickup/drop off from Hickory.

Agenda topic: Community reports | Presenter Housing Inspection. Tim Bascom.

Discussion. Tim Bascom discussed actions that he has been taking towards homeowners who have nuisance properties, such as educating them about trash pickup dates, bulk pickup procedures, and policies for disposing of items. Conclusion. Everyone should take their trash cans and put them in places where people cannot access them to cut down on litter and vagrancy.
