Meetings & Minutes
Historic South Park, Inc. helps you participate in community building and self-governance. We meet ten times a year, January-July, September-November. The 4th Tuesday of the month at Hope Lutheran Church, 500 Hickory.
Our last meeting of the summer (we don’t meet in August) was held at Branch & Bone. Our discussion focused on anti-crime and how we are working with the Dayton police to protect the businesses along Wayne Avenue and keep trespassers off of private property.
Member had a productive conversation about the Hickory Street traffic headaches with leaders from Emerson Academy and City of Dayton staff; Phase 3 of South Park Flats is announced; progress on Wayne Avenue Safety, discussion of crime at Sunoco stations.
Montgomery County Treasurer and the president of Preservation Dayton Inc. talk about how to get abandoned or foreclosed properties back on the market so they can be lived in again.
We heard a Wayne Avenue Safety update, as well as updates on new playground equipment, the City’s mowing and bulk pickup changes, and news of four streets getting repaved.
7pm at Hope Lutheran Church. Our guest speaker, Beth Miller of Wagtown, will advise us on how to handle encounters with loose dogs.
7pm at Hope Lutheran Church. Hear the latest updates on efforts to resolve safety issues on Wayne Avenue, and get an update on Hickory St/Emerson Academy.
While there is no meeting in December, please join us for the neighborhood Holiday Party Potluck on December 3. Chat with HSPI volunteers and let them know what you like about our South Park actitivities.
